About the Site Engineer Position

We are looking for a Site Engineer who will organise the day-to-day on-site operation of our construction projects. The site engineer is required to keep within the timescale and budget of a project and manage any delays or problems encountered on-site during construction. You will also be involved in the role of managing quality control, health and safety checks and the inspection of work carried out.

You should have a solid background in working on site and possess leadership skills, being able to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. We also expect you to be well organised and to favour safety above everything else. Having very strong written and verbal communication skills are is an important skill we expect you to have for this role and the ability to managing multiple vendors.

The Site Engineer would be responsible for:

  • Managing parts of construction projects
  • Overseeing building work
  • Undertaking surveys
  • Setting out sites and organising facilities
  • Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly
  • Supervising contracted staff
  • Ensuring projects meet agreed specifications, budgets or timescales
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially quantity surveyors and the overall project manager
  • Providing technical advice and solving problems on site
  • Preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork
  • Liaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and negotiating the price of materials
  • Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to
